Fun fact: Former US Congressman and New York City Mayor, Abraham S. Hewitt was one of the last inhabitant/owners of Ringwood Manor.
The builder/original owner was of course Robert Erskine, honored with such namesakes as the Robert Erskine School and the Erskine Lakes area of Ringwood along with the honorary title of Miss Erskine Lakes held in perpetuity by my mother. Not to be confused with Mrs Erskine who ran the house and iron business after her husband’s death.
